Autoflower male selection

I'm thinking the first thing would be is it has to auto flower, if your planning on making auto seed. Then structure, nose would be the next. Kinda hard to tell because lots of photo males go off early. So I guess you would compare to the group who flowers first. Just thinking out loud here.

Interesting. I did a god bud girl photo x auto diesel boy cross, popped about 10 this winter no autos but the aroma was medicinal chocolate. Kinda blew my mind never expected that. I remember as a kid prolly 1980 my mom gave me a deworming drink can't remember if it was mixed in chocolate milk or it just tasted like it, but that's what it reminds me of. Smells, tastes and memory what a neet gift. I did make a light chuck of an f2. Now I'm excited to pop these.

I recently pollinated a female auto with a male photoperiod, and all of the progeny that I grew out were autoflowering. I'm new to this as well, and would love to understand autoflower breeding better.

I can remeber a forum discussion at DBJs ....I cannot find the verbage...but I remember that you pollinate a photo with an auto male. Approx. 25% of the offspring will display auto flowering. Pollinate those showing auto flower with an auto male.
Then the 3rd seed pop you should have approx. 100% auto offspring, phenohunt the chosen female...hit with auto male, boo yah, you now have an autoflower strain your own

Hey i am just thinking out loud too guys. I love to learn something. I hv heard some breeders talk about auto breeding on podcasts. But also alot of people just reverse a mephisto or something to make a full auto first try, real quick like. Auto trait is always the recessive gene i thought but i hv seen full autos pop up in auto/photo first gen crosses. I thought at this point its a numbers game, plant more to find the most auto plants to use further. I have read where long term auto breeding seems like it takes 3 or 4 gens to make it full auto.
I dont hv anything full in the works rn but i hv made many many auto to photo crosses bc i always hv some autos in the veg tent. Sometimes i cut males tips and let them finish in the veg tent. So i hv alot to mess with someday but assume i need more space to hunt. I hoped i could simply fill a tent wt an auto cross in 24hr light and then find the male and female that finished first and use those to lock the auto trait. Then hunt through those!
