Just following directions and introducing myself. Old ass pothead and occasional grower that's been on a break (7yrs smoking, 10yrs growing) due to career and wife aggro. Getting back into habit now due to stress and health concerns precipitating a change in career, lifestyle and marital status. Last time I fired up a tent, LEDs were the next big thing that just hadn't gotten there yet. Nowadays the old HPS's in the back of my closet aren't just dusty, they're dinosaurs in comparison. Let's not forget the strains out there now that I've never heard of before, the fact that you can order seeds domestically in US now, and a true advancement of cannabis genetics by breeders free to do their thing w/o fear of going to jail for the rest of their lives. So much has changed in the last decade it, feels like the first time I stumbled into overgrow 25 years ago w/ no clue and a can fuckin' do attitude.

What kind of strains have you enjoyed growing/smoking the most? What kind of strains are you interested in growing now? (A few of the best oldies are still the best imo.) Are you an indoor or outdoor grower or both?

I usually still grow with MH/HPS during the winter time. They still grow great flower and provide some extra heat.

All indoor for now, don't have a decent space outside yet. At the time I shut it down, I was running some gear from e$kob@r over at Sannie's shop; Cheeseberry, Extrema, Choclate Cheese and some mixed packs of Cheese crosses. It was all fire that was way better than anything commercially available at the time. I was just getting a perpetual setup going since I had finally figured out cloning and keeping mothers, and was in process of expanding to two flower chambers when life happened and I had to shut it down.

This time around, I'd like to find some quick finishing sativa-dom hybrids and really explore flavor profiles after finding an agreeable high. I'd also like to try some of the pure racy, psychedelic, trippy sativas at some point, just to say I have and see if I like the high. All that will be after I make sure I have the space, tools, equipment and ability to still pull this shit off. Hopefully by then I'll have figured out what strains are out there that actually fit the bill and where to find them. For now though, I'm just gonna run through a grow or two as a refresher with some gear I picked up from hempdepot and with any luck, get some good weed out of the experience. Hopefully, I can still root a clone and maintain a mother, but we'll jump off those bridges when I have plants big enough to cut a clone from. I have KC33, White KC and some freebies called Lemon Dabs all sprouting at the moment.

@Chefdave, I appreciate the offer, but I've already got a few beans in hand to get me back up and on my feet again. I may slip you a PM after I get the kinks worked out of the new setup just to pick your brain on strain selection and get me pointed in the right direction.
 
I was popping e$ko gear for quite a while too. Until I ran out. (face-palm) Chocolate Cheese was a really good one. But I only tried the (later available) fem. version.

Wow, I haven't thought of hemp depot for a long time. 🙃

Nowadays a couple local favorite seedbanks I enjoy are greatlakesgenetics.com and dcseedexchange.com Very satisfied. The quality genetics and great freebies/deals keep me coming back.

He's still around, but I won't use him anymore. He's really bad for selling old, un-viable seeds. His reviews reflect that, and if you look at his inventory, you can see the same packs sitting there unsold for years and years, still at full price.

My germ rates with HD sourced stuff is very low and dropping with each month. It's annoying for me, as I have seeds from JOTI and L13 with some bought from the breeder and some from HD and I didn't mark them as such, so I don't know which are likely to be duds.

Not all HD stuff is bunk. Hopefully you got some fresh stock.

Honestly man, if you find this is your kind of place and we are your kind of people, just hang around and chat and you'll likely find yourself with more quality seeds than you'll ever grow. Everyone is growing and chucking and breeding and sharing. Pretty soon you'll have a seed vault like this:
