Cal-Mag Myself?

"The Philosopher, is Stoned"
I just mixed my first try at a homemade organic Cal-Mag solution. Powdered eggshells and clean Epsom salt. When I get the ratio down, I'll post it.
Starting out at 1 TBSP eggshell, 1 TSP Epsom salt, and 1 Qt water. I'll use 1/2 Oz in a gallon of water each watering.

I've been doing the pan fired egg shell, with some vinegar 5% acidic, a carboy, poked into a mason jar lid, so more like a calcium acetate.
My understanding, the vinegar, leeches the calcium from the egg shell, the pan frying is remove all the variuos membrane from the shell.
I like the idea of adding some Epsom to mine.
Now I'm on a yeast for soil biology trail. Always something to learn!!

i use from seabird guano to crabmeal and many things that have calcium and other micro /traces in it. Organic is great to overdo it like that, but for as boost and guratee of semi fast release I use my diy elemental recipe. Works great both drenched and topmdressed

u can get this brand on here for cheaper than Amazon, but they- do sell 5-20lb versions on Amazon (just a lil more costly)

I choose this cause it’s powder, it’s same ingridents as elemental but no fish protein and way cheaper. I apply 1/4 cup every 2-4 weeks top dress for every 25 gal soil/medium and tea it at 1/2-1 cup every 50 gallons of water . bonus is no nitrogen and very soluable and works great. I tried this last 2 years in flower as my cal/mag addition vs elemental ( cost) , only thing it lacks is gypsum and that’s also cheap but I don’t seem to need it?

point is version I’m using is 100% powder and easy to use like elemental but way cheaper , very similiar %’s
look at ingredients
Elemental = Calcitic Lime, Dolomitic Lime, Gypsum and Fish Protein Hydrolysate vs Dolomitic / Calcitic Lime (cheap “diy version “)

no arguments to ur method it’s just egg shells take a lil bit to break down, I put ‘em in my compost/worm bin , nothing wrong with s-ringing em in too it’s just the release time I wouldn’t trust exp if it’s not real soil/outdoors without a extra boost. The great bonus to organics and adding stuff it’s hard to overdo it vs non organics ( not everything but u get what I mean )
