Funky bag mix

I purchased a bag of what was supposed to be Metro Mix, which is a very mild medium for starting seeds and cuttings. There is something in it which enveloped the seedling with a fuzzy fungus. I just dumped 4 CF into the outdoor veggie garden. I'll be popping some 'scuff' beans to test my new medium, before I try any more good beans. I've never seen this before, and I hope I don't see it again.

Roz - Sorry to hear about that fuzzy fungus from the Metro Mix. I never used Metro Mix, so don’t know about that. FWIW, I once had some fuzzy fungus on some seeds I was trying to sprout in moist paper towels. There was too much moisture for too long on those seeds and they got a fungus on them. I soaked the fuzzy seeds in hydrogen peroxide to clean off the fungus and they sprouted after that.

Yeah Metro mix is just like Fox farms "Up Country", but I can't find the Up Country anywhere local. There was no fungus on the seeds, and they had just enough water to start them. This happened to 3 separate strains too. I'll be poppin' some scuffers toward the weekend. I don't care too much about the money it cost me but I do care about the wasted time and beans. How bloody hard is it to label a product?
