Welcome to Haus of Haze

My retirement home....

After such a long break I continued to feel weird posting in my old GK Genetics thread. So much has changed since then. Now that I'm growing again after such a long hiatus, I've decided a fresh beginning for this new chapter was in order. While my intentions for growing have changed, my love for the plant has not.

I wanted to have some stoney fun sharing my blends and what's in my garden. I hope you enjoy the fusion of my new grow journal and stoney simpleton art.

Love the new thread and the design. Wanted to share progress on a couple of your crosses. Hope it’s ok to post these in here. Love the G13 Skunk, might be male hope not. Deep leaf serrations.

Island Skunk is nice too. Both are short, wide plants.

It’s only 2 plants but gives us a sneak peek, neither are sexed though so they could both be culled still. Liking what I see a lot.

Thanks brother. It's going to be a lot of fun for me so I'm looking forward to it.

Hope it’s ok to post these in here

Absolutely. I always appreciate the updates.

And Damn, don't you just love growing! Cannabis is such a beautiful plant. Those look great Bullfrog 👊

Nice line up, stoked!!

Thanks Brother. It definitely wasn't planned this way, but I am stoked to get a sneak peak at some future genetics that would have otherwise had me waiting awhile to explore. After everything that happened, that is a silver lining to this Hodge Podge grow. I don't expect much from this cycle other than that. It's pretty much a three month set-back from any work being done at this point.

The clones were also unexpected but I am curious to compare them to my old school stuff side by side. I haven't decided if I want to hit them with any pollen or not. If anything, it would probably be Mango Haze just to take advantage of the opportunity and vault them, but I'm still torn. Incorporating Cookies, Gelato, Runtz, etc. doesn't fit into the genetic pool I prefer working with and I don't want to contaminate my old gene pools with said genetics. But we'll see what happens.

Either way, I'm here for it. I'm expecting to see a ton of diversity and color. It should still be fun. 👊

Retirement home?! --- That looks like A LOT of upcoming work :ROFLMAO: lol! Great looking plants!

lol. Touche. But to be fair, I'm only growing in one tent now. So it's definitely still retirement. :ROFLMAO: And while breeding is what I'm passionate about, I've returned as a "hobbyist." I don't have any plans to publicly launch any of my new work or start selling seeds again. I'm just chilling, doing what I love, and working with old school lines. Until of course I randomly stop by a dispensary and leave with Gelato, Runtz, etc. clones. lol - I'm not sure if there's anyone more surprised than me that those clones are in my tent right now. I know Spy would be shocked. But I digress and thanks for stopping by brother. Hopefully it'll start getting more exciting in here in a few weeks.

Fucking epic intro. I also look forward to the journey ahead!

I don't blame you at all, sure Gelato is a fad strain but it's TASTY. I've never had a Gelato or Gelato-dominant cross that I didn't genuinely like. Runtz too 👍

I believe you and I don't doubt it. I'm pretty certain I'm going to love them too. I have used a Gelat.OG in an old blend of mine that I love. My growing ethos and relationship with the FAD strains actually has nothing to do with quality at all. I don't doubt for a second they're excellent, but my passion for breeding is primarily based on nostalgia and preservation. The 90's were my favorite years and exploring what feels like "primitive" genetics just fuels me.

For years I've lived on seed finder combing parental lineages like Indiana Jones looking for the lost arc. The legacy and heirloom strains I grew up with were basic, small to non-existent parental trees. Throughout the last couple of decades, those parental trees have become much larger, with many branches beginning to overlap. Once we factor in easy access to cuts, the sharing of clones, feminized seeds and those FAD strains, we're accelerating into a genetic funnel. Essentially, the majority of people are limited to their experiences because it's the same family reunion, albeit a different relative. Because of this, my passion is also driven by preservation. Preserving experiences and unlocking new possibilities by starting over. I prefer working with primarily landrace and old school genetics that have a minimal parental footprint already. For me, it's like starting with a blank canvass.

With all of that said, from time to time I will grow something "new" or even work with it. I just need to be mindful and not contaminate the other genetic pools. I'm trying to unlock Pandora's box with my selections and create new building blocks for unique experiences. I would say the biggest reason I've also stayed away is because running them would push my own plans back an entire cycle. It's actually how I ended up here currently. I lost a tray of old genetics, wrote this cycle off, started popping new seeds of all varieties, and came home with clones one day. :ROFLMAO:

I'll also add that the curiosity of something old blended with something new does intrigue me. Which is why I'm mulling over the idea of pollinating some branches with Mango Haze. At some point I want to work on a purple strain and I plan to start with my Ground Pounder whose mom was my Gelat.OG purp cut. So I've rationalized to myself that any seeds from this run could be grown during that time. But IDK, we'll see

Fucking epic intro. I also look forward to the journey ahead!
Thanks Bruv 👊

Dig the lineup, especially those clones 🤩
Can't wait for the bloom!

That looks awesome! My 2x is right schedule with yours and the 3x is about 10 days behind that. Your Island Skunk x Schwaggys Skunk #1 deserves a proper run. This one is a beauty even if she got smashed into a full tent, smells really special. Started off super musty, still has that but it's getting way more complex. Little sour, pungent some really delicate smelling sandalwood. Going to be fun smelling the smells mature. Has huge fat pistils. Thought I had my outdoor run decided but now I may have to make some room for some of this unique breeding you’ve got here. Nice job dude.
