If we were to restart with landraces....

Lots of great ideas for starting over, but with landraces, you’re not welcome.
Unless you are going to redefine the definition of a “landrace”, might need a new name?

“A cannabis landrace strain refers to a cannabis variety that has evolved naturally in a specific geographic region without intentional breeding. These strains are genetically stable, adapted to their environment, and untouched by modern breeding techniques.”

I hear what you're saying. It's a bit backwards from how most things are done but really not any different from how landrace strains came about in the first place. I think as long as humans were around and using it there was selective breeding going on Intentional or not. That's pretty much the same way it's still done. We just know what we're doing now. Now it's about increasing genetic diversity. Here's the best description of the idea I can find. I want wild weed everywhere.

"A primary goal of landrace gardening is to quickly adapt plants to a garden’s local conditions through simple seed saving practices. One of the unique aspects of landrace gardening is that it encourages combining several, if not many varieties of the same species (corn or squash for example) and allowing the varieties to cross pollinate naturally or with assistance, in order to build up genetic diversity.

In contrast to open pollinated varieties, landrace varieties are promiscuously pollinated. This means that we are not only leaving the flowers open to pollinators, but we mingling varieties and allowing inter-variety pollination to happen."
