Rules are pretty basic, the idea is to explain and entertain. Contestants may chose to treat this like a regular journal and post in your accustomed style or put on a new hat. Anyone is welcome to post in this thread, in fact I encourage it. Ask questions of the entrants, point out potential issues or just shoot the shit.

You will be voting on your favorite poster, criteria are what you make it. Most informative, most improved, you like the color of paint they chose, whatever.

Are we posting here if not then I’m not sure what this is but LETS GOOOOOO.

I will be posting 100 days Seed to Salsa. Unless it all descends into chaos then I will just post pics of flowers or feet or whatever. Like any good project it starts with clearing space. The greens need to get to the garden so the seeds can move to garden shelf so I can start more seeds on the seed shelf.

The bed I made is cardboard on the bottom and about 8in of top soil and some compost I got from a horse farm down the road. I’m not very happy with the compost so I’m looking around for more.

This will be the tomato bed but I needed to put my greens somewhere so this will have to do. I have purple bok choy, chijimisai, Nero kale and herbs rosemary, basil and thyme all going in the bed. The greens should be done by the time the tomatoes need to go in if not then I will be making another bed for them.

Follow along as we get this salsa.

First day of the contest and not only is it raining, but I have to go into the office this week.

Garden boxes just getting started

1000006304.jpg
I'm digging the color difference of these potatoes
1000006305.jpg
We used up the old pile of compost and I learned my lesson putting a pile of compost on bare ground, every tree within arm's reach was throwing its roots up into it. This time around, I used a piece of wrestling floor mat as a false bottom to prevent roots from going up into it.
1000006307.jpg
And this overflow pile of leaves will get transferred to the compost wire basket & become next year's soil ❤️

I'll be posting about these.. @jaws genetics Bubblegum Chem f2s... And @Chefdave selection High Mac f2s...These are both being hunted for the best Male and female of each strain...I normally like to do hunts with way more beans but this is what I have to work with and confident I'll find what I need to do some chucks..Since I'm just hunting they will be grown in small 2 gallon containers..The medium for these is used reamend peat..(Promix BX and Happy frog.. Likely the third or fourth time being used..)
The used medium has about a tablespoon of Down to earth BIOLIVE and a teaspoon of DTE 3-3-3 starter mix with a handful of worm castings in each pot..
They was up potted straight to these pots as baby seedlings from a 3 oz plastic cup with mycorrhizal added to the roots at time of transplant..
They are growing under a small Spider farmer Sf2000pro
Nothing but water up to this point🙂IMG_20250401_115556.jpg

Super healthy brother

I'll extend the entry deadline 'til April 7 midnight MST for those that haven't registered. Just make sure you post up in this thread and call out that you are entering the comp.

Now I gotta track down Gardener Scott see if I can get a ✂️
Great start pHenohunters!
Thanks @DopeDaniel
I’m just getting ready to start some new seeds
Tonight so no need to extend for me
But I do appreciate it :passjhomie:

Ok, I run a perpetual type of grow area.
I'm willing to give up a bit of space, over packing the ladies in.
However, traffic jams do happen now and then.

I have a dedicated work area, a utility sink, space for my totes, there are 4- 35 G, Rubber Maid trash cans, I bought new, a decade or more ago, when I was a juice junkie. Now they store medium, either spent, or resting.
Area for my organics, and salt fertilizers.

Some space for keeping worm bins, going on my 3 year now.
I'm smack in the middle of a worm wrangling, swapping them out from very enriched worm castings to fresh bedding, in new bins.
I'm GOBSMACKED, how many red wrigglers there are now!

But, for day 1, lets do veg area pics.
For the outside as I made it 3 years ago.

Now , the way it is.
4 1 2025 001 veg area cuts 2 clones and germination.JPG
Heat mat and controller, with some cuts2clones, trying to root, some SkittleMittens. Very good weed, by the way!
I use some screen to block some light, and pop a high back dome over the cuts.
Then 7 GG4 x Lavender, some test beans for Til_Valhala from another realm.
Then on the back shelf, in a round saucer, are my old beans I'm trying to open up for past week or more.
They all went into coco coir, a bit of bokashi, a bit of worm castings. I cracked each bean, as gently as I could, and they are in the cannabis god's hands now.

Trying to keep up humidity, an air stone in small tray of H2O2/water, bubbles 24/7.

One of the simple stupid things, that helps me greatly, garden wire fixed, above my table.
Moving the lights is easier now.

See Ya'll real soon!!

Gonna go with this for my entry for simplicity sake.
13 Ciskei, 8 Royal Thc-V, and 5 mystery fems from my Ecsd reversal project (had 9 dif strains, so these are each one of those).
20250401_165002.jpg

My fave Ciskei is looking male like structure wise20250401_165013.jpg

A few other Ciskei (this strain is my focus this run)

I'd like em to show sex before flipping for stability sake (intersex might be more likely if flipped immature) but we shall see if I can wait or not.

Considering going corn stalk style untopped. Also might pull a few gals to see if they auto outside.

Summary- I have no plan

Let's go!

First off thanks for the opportunity @DopeDaniel
This should be fun !!:passjhomie:

I’m definitely no professional grower
But I do love it
And this will force me to pay attention to WTF I’m doing

I’m a perpetual grower that loves to grow a bunch of different flavors

For this run I will be running all In House genetics
3 masterpiece Fem
3 Dark velvet Fem
4 gg1 x platinum kush mints m/f IMG_0190.jpeg

I will pick 1 of each to flower and hope they finish
Right around the 100th day

Here we grow

I float my seeds in these little glass jars with plain
R/O water in a dark cabinet until they all have tails
IMG_0192.jpegIMG_0194.jpegIMG_0196.jpeg
Well not much else to say besides
I’m looking forward to this
And maybe just maybe I’ll learn a thing or two

My next post will be making veg and flower soil
Nothing to exciting but need to do something while we wait for these little ones

Have a great night my brothers !!!:passjhomie:

My Oh-Oh cross always seems to go sideways, so this should good for a laugh.

Rafter Stock is exactly that. Those things have been stapled to a roof truss for a few years now. I knocked off the cobwebs and crushed them down, I was able to find a few beans in there.

So I had a plan to pop some beans and use those for my log....but it looks like I am going to be moving (and becoming a home owner). Not the best time to be popping new seeds.

Probably going to use this log to document the move and possibly discuss options for the new set up. Hopefilly i will be able to find some interesting stuff to post regarding the move and setting up shop again. Have a handful of small plants in 12/12 right now. Game plan is to hold out as long as I can to let them finish. I expext a couple of them will need to be cut premature and washed.

Still trying to figure out how to handle my veg tent. Wife suggested that I don't set up right away as we will have a lot of people coming and going immediately after we move and a couple small renovation projects to complete. Probably going to try and be stealth for a little bit after the move as we don't need the garden as part of the house tour.

Going to think about it a little more, but initial thoughts for options are 1. Pick my 2 or 3 favorite plants and find a spot to stash a 2x2 tent and a couple of plants; 2. Take a bunch of cuts and find a super small stealth spot to stash the cuts while they root buying me time to get the move done and tents set up; or 3. Focus on the move, shut down the veg tent, and embrace the excitement of all the great beans I will get to pop in June or July.

(Also for the record I don't have any valuable cuts, all just plants that I have enjoyed and kept around...no significant loss)

Below are some pics from the plants in the flower tent. Can't wait for the move so I can get back to running in 5 gals. A little sick of these little 2 gal and 1 gals.

Learned my lesson about salt buildup as I ran into serious issues at the end of veg. I flushed a couple time and have stopped being lazy about watering untilcproper runoff. Think I have everything back on track.

becoming a home owner

Congratulations !
,,, but damn
a little concerned that you are taking this friendly competition a little too seriously.
You didn't need to buy a new house😰

Probably going to use this log to document the move and possibly discuss options for the new set up

I think that is a great idea.

Tell us a story, and start at the beginning.

🐰

What cuts are we talking about? Sounds like stuff you hunted? Any chance you'd post a list, I'm quite curious!

I'd say for simplicity sake just start from scratch once your settled in the new place. But letting go of cuts can be tough!

Count me in! Cool idea @DopeDaniel !

I just transplanted some cuts last night and set them up in their own tent. I'll post a pic tonight with some details. Clone only in this tent so it should be interesting. I'm sure they look a little rough still after the abuse I inflict upon them during transplant. I like to really break up that root ball and hit em with a healthy dusting of Great White when putting them in bigger pots so they hate me currently. But they'll love me in a week! 😂

Sorry for the confusion everyone, hopefully I can clear that all up.

I locked down the registration thread, this is the one to post in for the comp.

You only need to post once a week but feel free to post more. Since the contest started Tuesday April 1, all posts must be up by Monday April 7 Midnight MST. Monday Midnight MST is the deadline for all future weekly updates.
