BUD ROT ARMOR!

HBZ

❄️🔥💎 FORAGER of FIRE 💎🔥❄️
Perhaps my Canadian brethren could really help here..Has anyone ran the Texada Time warp...Any Warp crosses.. Okanagan grape or anything from Lucky 13 seeds.Whats some tried and true NORTHERN strains, quick finish with serious mold resistance ..I'm now able to grow outdoor so I want to grab together some strains that won't stress me with the rot.. Wouldn't mind testing a few in a humid tent before next season so I need to get cracking..Please only mention strains that are known bulletproof outside. Thanks yall

I'm gonna go ahead and second this. I also would love some bullet proof outdoor strains.

I'd say I lost 25% of each plant this year, maybe more, but they were volunteers with zero planning.

I was literally thinking I should get seeds in the fridge for next year lol. But I told myself it's too early.
Maybe not!

@HBZ I plan on a round of autos and a round of full term photos (earlier finishers hopefully). I got 150 gallon fabric pots for the full term, ill use Roots Organic soil bags as grow bags for the autos (maybe not completely full) plant count here is 8 (4mature/4immature). I'll follow that outdoor I guess. Plants counts are dumb but I digress.
Gonna look into Twenty20 for sure... @Photon Pharms for autos

current most top best anti mold pheno’s/clones=

Forbidden Fruit = Outdoors wise and I had to choose “best anti mold” would be FF. love forbidden fruit crosses for soo many reasons , they are bud rot/mold resistant champs ! I live in a super high rh area and def rains a lot and also hard to grow outdoors for cannabis Inless u really try hard and also select pheno’s that can. Anything with FF will def not have any issues ..super recommended and the terps and flavor are prime.

Next generation od confirmed packs = I grew 5 diff strains from next generation and i can confirm many were mold resistant. I really liked their dynamite and texada timewarp. The mold resistant to productive was amazing and for me timewarp was my cemented crop for 5+ years and till this day I get people who got clones form me when I had it still request or ask me about her. She was my “blue dream” if that makes sense cause she was so productive and carefree. But issue I saw was she was not the strongest smoke to she was a boring pine , earthy terps/flavor. but rx wise pine and earthy is very good for many uses.

Plat kush breath = if u want a kush ( so many rot ) that can grow outdoors in Semi high rh I suggest look into anything that has platinum kush in it. every pheno I ran outdoors that had that in it was insane or with ogkb or pbb in it. it’s the rock hard nugs but enough spacing that’s key .

king sherb or jelly breath = they both do amazing outdoors as orginal or crosses . Very resistant and work amazing outdoors

blueberry muffin = amazing strain that can def take a huge can of whoop ass, i Know a buddy who buys 50+ packs and never takes clones and it’s amazing how consistently that strain can produce huge asss buds like blude dream and smell constantly great and whatcha expect but be that bud rot proof.

gorilla butter or plat icing crosses = look for packs with that in it, they rock outdoors

The soap = super chunky and amazing results, just a lil prone to rot but not horrible. For being soo chunky def worthy and great smoke. If it was me I’d do bubble bath first cause she seems stronger and def more budrot proof (better noding spaces )

Meat breath = is another one that I highly suggest because it’s quality is soooo good outdoors and lil mold issues for being such a compact plant

wifi 43 = amazing producer and def will have np doing it outdoors and also not worrying of nugs to molds. Key is end of oct harvest

Big chillz - = whole pack I ran from cap of big chillz was insane, I ran her both indoors and out and man she could produce some 2 liters , zero bud rot and man she looked so prime, def suggested !

animal tsunami = is another one , amazing yeilds , huge ass nugs and zero bud rot

jokerz 31 = amazing outdoors, yes takes a lil longer to be finished for outdoors but is crazy mold resistant from leaf spot to bud rot

cap junky = does great outdoors, like anything I suggest very mold/bug resistant and def will present

perm marker = unlike indoors really packed on and was super carefree. Yes a lil leaf spot prone but man the yeilds and no bud rot who cares about the leaf spot when it produced such good rocky/chunk buds with no bud rot

jet fuel gelato = is amazing outdoors and indoors for factor of such huge nugs and consistency of amazing quality and no bud rot to even leaf spot . She is pure purple and soo gassy no wonder she’s a top choice in the cannabis game. I ran multi crosses by Bay Area and clones with jet fuel and can confirm it’s def a trait by her that she’s def an amazing plant for outdoor desires .

GMO = you would think gmo would suck ass outdoors being it takes extra weeks of bloom but she’s budrot proof almost and can take soo much environmental stresses . I have ran gmo alone and many crosses with her and can confirm she will produce you mid oct-end oct np perfect smoke and also not be bud rot. I’ve harvested when it was snowing a few times with her and didn’t lose anything and that tells ya something. She will trick ya like pbb or many by looking she won’t finish but those last 2-4 weeks will shine and prove to not harvest at start of Oct why

Bubble bath = did amazing outdoors and man she is some serious stinky and amazing tasting smoke. Zero bud rot and no issues besides so produces so much lol . She loved it outdoors

Apples n bananas = also a good choice, she was prone to leaf spot but it didn’t stop her from pumping out some serious chunky andd zero losses. U def won’t be disappointed with her and she’s a winner

Zkittlez = I honestly think zkittlez ( I’d perfer crosses with her than orginal ) is better outdoors/sungrown for one reason, she sucks indoors and a headache for me everytime being it take sos long to beg and also finicky. Outdoors wise every pheno and orginal seems carefree and super easy to grow but also mold proof . it’s interesting cause everytime I ran zkittlez outdoors I’m excited to try her indoors and the results of outdoors was def better smoke and results for zkittlez (for me). Just saying zkittlez is awesome smoke and highly wanted so why not grow it outdoors when it does 1ox better and doesn’t look bad in anyway . My pheno thats zkittlez kush is if not my favorite strain to smoke and patients repeatly Want her . I grew a few years ago zkittlez x lemon tree and I still have people who smoked her ask if I can get that lol

purple punch /bluedream also do amazing outdoors and also reasons why u saw market get overwhelmed by those girls. for me I rather have other strains but many do so just a side note, def workable high rh/bud resistance with high yeilds if grown out fully

———

what i know I would avoid for high rh and outdoors , I know I still do but trying to warn ya (plus u asked) cause thisese pheno’s def can get budrot and will fuck u over push em , happens eh

tropicana cookies = omg one rain at end and ur fucked, but one of the fastest and best smokes outdoors. She’s hard to not grow outdoors cause the reward and yields are insane. But if u get greedy you’ll be seeing that 25-50% losses no problems

majority of og kush’s, they hate wet feet, they hate high rh, they hate cold nights , they will rot easily

mac1 = won’t ever finish lol

slurricane #7 = one of my best cuts I’ve acquired but never seems to shine on quality outdoors, so I avoid her but grow her indoors

gary Payton = like Tropicana, amazing yeilds and quality but so vulnerable to rot, fast finisher

oreoz = anything with Oreoz will be crazy fast finishing , but I’ve noticed everything with her in it is more prone to leaf spot and infected in wrong time can def decrease chances of failure. However I have a few crosses that did do me amazing like bananas splitter or Dante’s inferno. The pure mi finished like mid sept and than turned brown frown on stem and died, uggh

another suggested on not even “strain” is top ur plants more often than a indoor flowering-harvested plant cause to push/deter budrot I def see when I top more times to push medium but more buds than singular large nugs it def also helps the results. Also I harvest my orf one to budrot plants the tops of the plant and than let the mid range-bottoms mature. This also seems to solve many issues and let’s me harvest things I never could before (harvest all at once and wait to long )

Reading this pretty much made my day as I have the Forbidden fruit cut in house that Ive never even ran yet..Also have a pack each of GMO and Donny Burger f5 in veg right now..Really appreciate the info @BH ..Think ill grab some some Time warp and chuck at the FF cut just for future hunts..Perhaps ill come across a nice burger male..I got nothing but time..I'll definitely put together a solid outdoor strain and run it up to about f6 or 7...I prefer growing from seed..Cuts are a pain . That's why I'm taking Pure Michigan f6..I want 1k seeds so i can pop a round of beans every cycle..Better odds for that special gem to surface..About f6 or 7 them beans grow plants that are extremely similar anyways

I ran grease monkey and apples and Bananas od 3 yrs back. I got tired of cutting out budrot during chop, I just tossed both plants in the garbage can. Never had any issues running indoors, just od. Michigan weather here. These were pretty large plants.
wow really the grease monkey and gg4 did amazing for me outdoors, are u doing this greenhouse or putting ur plants indoors when it’s at night? I find many people since they do that it’s the bad airflow doing that can also promote fugus. I found many greenhouse growers with same clones as me would get more budrot cause of airflow of greenhouse vs outdoors even thou there’s rain . Just saying I saw even many big ag for cannabis even saying they noitce even thou there’s rain issues outdoors that open airflow and wind def is hard to match

No argument here but for me changed a lot on some adjustments to outdoors like is chop the tops earlier (keep mid range-bottoms longer ) and before rain in oct and multi toppings, I live super close to you so it’s not like weather is much different

if anything last 3-5 years for me outdoors has been more drier and warmer than ever, shoot many yesrs I saw weeks and weeks in sept and Oct of rain to shade to cloudy days and than even snow before oct. I’ll take risk anyday and diversity cause I def see my top 3 worse mold prone Itf whole garden was that it would hurt me soo bad

Donny burger 🍔 f5/f6 by m48 is very nice seed project. Only issue I had vs gmo or other crosses with gmo is that i saw many pheno’s of his seeds were more prone to being not as stretchy and vigors, but if u look at 2022-23 my outdoor I had a donny burger and man they were xhunky and not budrot like gmo is normally. just suggest to let ‘em grow big and not worry of overstretch like gmo does, expect 1-2x stretch At most

Have a few cookie type crosses growing this year and they all seem to be really resistant to rot. Found one spot in an Alien cookies but it was caused by a worm, there's 4 or 5 of those with no rot. Uk Cheese x Extreme Cookies x2 has dense buds and no rot so far. 4 or 5 Lemon Dosidope's that show no rot either. Might be something there.

Both of the Pure Michigan f5's you sent me were clean of rot so far, partially done trimming one. They did get septoria pretty bad though.

The Roadkill Diamonds are rot free too so far.

Seems to me that the purple plants have a lot more resistance to rot. Don't remember losing too many to rot in the past. My 3 Gorilla Mittens, two are darker colored where one was just green, the green pheno had a couple buds that had rot on them, nothing at all on the darker phenos. Maybe something there as well. There's a couple really dark Banana Punchsicle's that I can't find any on either.

My grow area has standing water 9 or 10 months of the year, prime conditions for rot. There were days back there this summer it had to of been 90% humidity, I'd be instantly soaked with sweat just walking back there. I really should have more rot than I do.

My nephew still has a PM f5 in the ground with no rot as well..These Alien cookies I got going are some thick vigorous plants..I can tell they would/could be some beastly plants if I let them..I have some Sin City juice coming up..I need to ask @HydroRed how they may do against rot.. Really REALLY hoping for a nice male of SSJ. Hit that forbidden fruit

For the size flowers they put off, they do really well with resisting rot outdoors. @Psychobilly grew some out last season (cold/rainy MI weather) and I dont remember him saying anything about rot, but he did lose the top half of the almost finished plant in a bad storm and he said it still yielded what the others in the garden yielded with only half the plant. Its one of my oldest strains and I dont recall anyone having rot issues with it but obviously location is everything.

Stumbled upon this, now in VA it's a constant battle as well. I know you're asking about genetics, but something is that has helped here, dramatically, is hypochlorous acid. Sprayed every few days to once a week, through flower has helped dramatically for keeping rot at bay. Any questions, etc, you may have ask away. But worth a shot to enjoy your favorite cultivars in high humidity, wet cool, etc, conditions.

Thanks. I'll do some reading about that later today..woke up at 5 am to a horrendous storm..Just awaiting daylight and I'm taking the last two plants out
