What's up, fellow Hunters

ALRIGHT, so I'm excited to finally get this run started! I currently have four plants in flower, and that leaves room for me to start two more plants. It's my pleasure and honor to pop a couple beans from 3Thirteen Seeds by @HydroRed

Last year, my Phenohunter calendar had a 3-pk of Monkey Juice stuck into the rings:

So today, I got my solo cups filled with Tupur Royal Gold coco. Each cup was given 1cup of tap water & about 1ml of calmag & one single drop of pH down

After a thorough watering, I let each cup drip-drain for a couple hours before dropping in each seed.

*I think this is where I was messing up with previous seeds damping off, putting them straight into fully saturated coco & not letting the coco drip-drain for a short time, likely keeping the seeds too wet for too long.

And we're off!! . I have the fans and exhaust fan turned off for now, to generate some warmth in here.

Honestly dude so did I lol! I recently gave all my fem seeds to my dad & swapped for his regs. I must've forgotten to give these to him, found em the other day in my stash.

After a solid 24hrs in the 2x2 with no air circulation or exhaust, let's check the coco surface temp:

That seems about right I was worried they'd get too warm.

Woke up to them "almost" sprouted:

GP still has the helmet on

MJ looks sprouted but not above substrate yet

Hellyeah they're up! Just switched them to 18/6 lighting and pulled off their domes.

The heights of the stems look really really good to me, this tells me they're getting adequate light intensity Cool. Now we put it in cruise control for about 15-20 days.

Day 9 from seed & looking absolutely ideal couldn't ask for more from these right now. I've only fed them once, that was yesterday, likely won't feed again until tomorrow.

Day 14. I switched them around

I feel like it's been a while since I've had quick growth like this from seed. It seems to take me to about day 20 for them to get like this.

Currently, these cups are getting watered every other day. Full feed. Will probably transplant next week

I had to pull a couple leaves off each just to make watering easier for now

Man, I love having a 2x2 to start things

I should transplant them to #1s by next weekend

I was struggling to keep them from going bone dry within 24 hrs, so they desperately needed up-potting

Just got them into #1 pots

Monkey Juice has only had 4 leaves pulled
Greases Pieces has only had 2 leaves pulled

Day 21v and both plants are doing VERY well


They look really similar now that they've got a little age on them. They looked quite different a couple weeks ago

I'm super low on my Grow base, and can't get more until next weekend. Luckily they're young enough that I can skip a watering or two. I can also use Bloom in a pinch, my Grow/Bloom bases aren't very different in N P K & I doubt 1-2 feedings would matter.

Topped the Monkey Juice today & looks like I slightly FIM'd one of the two nodes we'll see how it responds. Sometimes that damaged node will croak & get crispy in a few days.

Pulled the two largest leaves off each plant because they were kinda crowding each other.

Day 25v, pulled off all the huge leaves as I feel they become a "sink" at a certain point.

It looks like the FIM'd node is fine.


Day 26v, they're already bushing out a bit overnight

This personally confirms to me that the huge leaves were in fact "sinking" the rest of the plants' development.

Looking good my friend! I agree that a lot of times in new/squat plants, fans can just hog up plant resources and light. Its the taller og kush's and strains like that that really seem to need them for good veg growth.

The morning of day 30v, Monkey Juice had to get some training ties



Like an idiot, I pulled the top two fan leaves off the Greases Pieces, then decided to top it

Should be fine, but I just feel stupid doing both the top leaf-pulling and topping. Oh well.
