Hunters, sharpen your senses, it’s time to taste, smell, analyze, and create.

We’re launching one of the most flavorful and creative contests ever hosted on pHenohunter.org:

This contest blends aroma analysis, flavor profiling, and creative terpene mapping into one immersive experience.
Whether you’re a terp nerd, a flavor poet, or an artistic soul, this is your moment to shine.

Each participant enters two components:

1. Terp Sommelier Tasting Notes

Break down your flower like a true connoisseur:

  • Aroma notes (pre‑grind & post‑grind)
  • Flavor notes (inhale & exhale)
  • Mouthfeel
  • Effects (onset, duration, character)
  • Dominant terpenes (guessed or known)
  • Creative descriptors encouraged

2. Custom Terp Wheel or Aroma Map

A visual representation of your strain’s terpene profile:

  • Hand‑drawn or digital
  • Include dominant + secondary terps
  • Use colors, icons, or artistic elements
  • Make it accurate, beautiful, or both
This is your chance to combine science, art, and sensory intuition.

RULES (Initial)

  • Be a member of pHenohunter
  • Have a journal
  • One entry per member (tasting notes + terp wheel).

Community voting will help determine winners.
  • Contest Opens: February 1st, 2026
  • Submission Deadline: End of the February
  • Voting Week: First week of next March
  • Winners Announced: Shortly after voting closes

More information on prizes to come! We will be looking to run a random grow related contest every month with awesome prizes! The size of the prize will reflect the complexity involved in the contest!

One of the prizes I can now disclose will be a Terpene Aroma & Tasting kit (not for consumption): Cherrywood Box with Education Booklets

Myrcene, Beta-Caryophyllene, Limonene, Pinene, Terpinolene and Ocimene are the terpenes in the kit.

A handmade cherrywood box containing: six aroma vials of the most commonly occurring terpenes isolates and three booklets to support your education. 'Instant Gratification' walks you through a simple, fun exercise you can do with friends at your next 'sesh'. Designed to work together, the 'Terpene Tasting Kit' booklet and 'Instructions' booklet are a much deeper dive into the six major classes of terpenes and palate development.

The six major terpene classifications (identified by SCLabs in 2020) provide the framework for aromas and flavors. In time, you will develop your ability to identify and recall the terpenes, scents, flavors (your ‘palate’) and correlating effects and curate your flower selections for flavor, effect, and experience. For those who seek the craft experience with all the joys and surprises of discovery; this tasting kit is a starting point for your educational journey.

Dude I love this idea. I've been doing this for a while. I've got some GMO in Grove Bags that smells like rotting meat that I don't think I've done a true layout of before. Then again the last time I was in a dispensary, they asked me what I was looking for, and I said "You got anything that makes customers or staff gag when you open the jar?" LOL.

Ya there were no submissions unfortunately, but that doesn't mean that we still cant have some fun with it!:weedleaf:

Ill still provide some prizes if you guys throw down!
